  1. On Windows Taskbar - Increase Number of Recent Files Shown in Right Click Quick Access

I recently upgraded Office thick client on my laptop. Believe I was upgraded to Office Pro Plus.

When opening an office file, I right click on the pinned office program on the taskbar. Then select a recently opened file.

After the upgrade to Pro Plus, the number of files available was reduced. Consequently I often have to search for and open a file now which takes longer and more clicks. Vs previously it was 2 clicks - right click on office tile and click on file.

Ive found articles online to increase the # of recent files via a registry key update. I did that but it didnt work. Can someone help me increase the number of files in recently opened via taskbar right click on office program?

Im on Win 10 Enterprise version 19041.630, Office 365 Version 2008 Build 13127.20638 Click to Run Monthly Enterprise Channel

  2. Increasing The Number Of Quick Access's Recent Files

Hi, i've searched everywhere but to no clear answer. I need to increase the number of recent files displayed (which is currently limited to 20 files). this window is located in file explorer's Quick Access. I work with lots of files and increasing the number
beyond 20 will be a relief for me. please no folder pinning and other workaround.

Is there a way to do that?

    I'm using Windows 10 Pro

    Thank you very much.

Increase number of recent folders in quick access

Is there a way to increase number of recent folders in quick access?

Currently I can see 30, but it would be extremely helpful to increase this number due to the number of folder I access daily.

Thank you in advance for your response.

On Windows Taskbar - Increase Number of Recent Files Shown in Right Click Quick Access

How can I increase the number of dynamic frequent folders shown in the quick access pane in windows 10?

The "recent items" feature in previous windows versions was a great productivity tool. But it has been split in windows 10 which is fine and reduced in size which is not.

In windows 10 by default there are four dynamically generated frequent folders shown in the quick access pane (as opposed to a very large number in previous versions).

How can this number be increased from 4?

    Put another way:

Where in the registry is numberOfDynamicFrequentFoldersToShowInQuickAccessPane = ox00000004

Obviously I made up the name "numberOfDynamicFrequentFoldersToShowInQuickAccessPane" it is not the actual name in the registry (though maybe it should be) but somewhere in the registry there is a value
set to four that controls the number of 'dynamic' frequent folder shown in the Quick access pane

key words: frequent folders, quick access, recent places, recent folders, registry, regedit.

    note:

To increase the number of recent files

Note: By default 10 most recent items are shown in Jump List for any application. You can however, change the number from default 10 to something else.

How to change the number of recent items to display in Jump Lists using Registry edit:
    • Press Windows + R keys, type in regedit and press Enter.
    • Navigate to:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    • In the right pane double click on the Start_JumpListItems to modify it.
    • Enter a number between 0 to 60.
    • Restart the computer.
