Windows 10: Onboard built-in microphone is only inputting loud static

I just tried to do a Discord call with my friend but they informed me they couldn't hear me over static, we both restarted Discord, our computers, etc. I switched over to Discord on my phone and they said it was gone.


Here's what I've done

>I've plugged in my USB Mic, no static

>I've tried updating the audio input driver, there's none to install, haven't tried reinstalling the driver cause that's not something I have ever done before, can't roll back cause there's nothing to roll back to.


What else could I try? Is there something in settings to fiddle with or should I restart my computer till something happens?

Static microphone recoding doesn't accept any input - Windows 10

It's an Acer Aspire E5-571P.

Where would the "line in" setting be? There's one audio jack on the laptop, that's it, so that's what it's plugged in to. I don't really know how long this has been going on as I just ended up switching things around. I'm also not sure where the "levels"
setting you're referring to is.

None of the steps in "fix microphone problems" are relevant to the issue I'm having. The microphone is correctly selected as the input device but records a continuous input of heavy static (even with a dead quiet background) and does not seem to pick up
any actual sounds. I just get the same static noise no matter what. Adjusting the microphone volume seems to adjust how loud the static is, but nothing else.

 

No Microphone Input

So I just got my computer (built myself if that matters), and I can't get any microphones to work. I've tried the front and back microphone ports with multiple pairs of earbuds, as well as a USB headset. None of them work, but a little bit of static is
input and recorded whenever I plug them in or rotate them in their ports. Whenever I speak into the microphones, however, nothing is recorded.

 

Loud Static Through Speakers Problem

Im Getting Loud Static Through Speakers When First Starting Up Before Windows Plays The Startup Sound, The Loud Static Stops After The Windows Startup Sound Plays. Seems Like Ive Had This Problem After Overclocking. Specs Are As Listed, Please Help.
