Once again the latest Microsoft Updates have knocked out my audio

This is the 2nd time in the last few months that after installing updates from Microsoft I get the message, "No Audio Output Device is Installed." So frustrating. Why can't Microsoft put out an update without screwing something up. No need to respond. They can't.

    :)

  2. Today's (8/8) updates knocked out my sound card (again)

    So, it's out again.

I fooled around with the settings for hours - finally got it to work. But as Windows is, it needs to be restarted occasionally. When I did, it knocked it out again.

Windows 10 seems like a fine operating system, but for some reason, it's trashing my audio. I need audio on my PC - if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.

    Thanks,

    Scott

  3. Windows update KB4464330 -- Lost Audio In & Out

I'm not seeing this listed elsewhere with concerns about the 10 October Update, but ever since that update I have not been able to recover my audio (in or out) on my HP Laptop. I have tried every troubleshooting suggestion that HP or MS has put forward,
but all else (knock on wood) appears to be functioning normally.

No audio output once again after Window update

I just corrected the issue. Device Manager/Right clicked Other Devices/Update Drivers/Installed Realtel HD. Audio is working properly now.

Maybe this was one of your suggestions that I wasn't able to understand.

I'll print out all your suggestions and include what I did for the next time this issue arises or don't allow anymore Windows Security Updates.

    Thanks again,

    Jerome

I stand corrected for the audio driver, I install the High Definition Audio Device, not Realtek.
