Windows 10: One core maxed, Windows 10, ACPI.sys

I found an old thread about this. Every answer seems to be different and mostly there are no answers. However, this just happened again and while the core was maxed and my notebook fan was screeming, I recorded a trace with Windows Performance Recorder. The link for the file in my google drive is included below and here. Note that I've zipped using 7z with ULTRA compression to reduce the size.


I have also noticed that if I EITHER unplug or plug in a USB c multi-adapter into my thunderbolt port the cpu utilization goes to zero for about 5 or 10 seconds, then maxes out again. Only a reboot seems to stop it....until at some point it goes through the roof again.


This machine was purchased because I can't really afford a Mac. I have been a Windows user and professional programmer since Windows 3.0. I spend half of my time with any windows machine I have owned troubleshooting issues for it. I understand that many of the problems are 3rd party drivers, as I suspect is the issue here.


**** I MUST have a reliable machine, a tool, that I can use to do high quality audio and video recording and production. I bought this machine exclusively for that purpose. I now doubt it can do the job reliably. A windows update, a driver update, who knows what and anything could happen to the machine, and does.


I am seriously considering changing to Mac and never looking back. Please help.

windows xp installation and dual core am

could someone please list the steps they follow to install windows with a dual core processor and windows xp service pack to. I'm reletively new to amd dual core and i feel i'm missing a step. All help will be appreciated. thanx

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
