One Drive erased all my files for some reason

So I never used One Drive because I knew how shitty this thing is. I made a mistake yesterday, and launched the OneDrive app and it instantly started synchronizing. I eventually told him to stop because I had thousands of files (including music production and photography) and the free 5GB wouldn't have been enough. After I told him to stop, I had some kind of warning message and then all my files just disappeared. School, photography, important documents and so much more. I saved some stuff on a hard-drive but I didn't update it in a while.

After that, a document popped up on my desktop saying "where are my files" and when clicking on it, there's literally nothing inside but one .wav file because of the music production. Bin is empty as well because of heavy it was, so all my files are officially just gone.

The worst is that all the files and folders still show up in the rapid access but they're not accessible.

I had to search through my files with a file recuperator, but there's a lot of stuff that I didn't find or that just got destroyed by this fucked up app that is One Drive.

There is no hope for me right?

Did I mention that I didn't save any windows back up point because I wasn't aware that it had to be activated manually, so im fucked.

    Finally! An alternative to eraser...

it looks much cleaner then the eraser so that is a big step up.

Looking for a drive eraser utility

I erase drives like this. Install it as secondary drive to PC, format it and use program "Eraser".
Make sure all options are ticked and that pseudo-random option is selected with 1 pass.
    That's all you'll ever need.

I tried recovering data later and all i got was emptiness and garbage files that are completely useless.
