I need to prevent one drive from using space on disk C. I have tried various solutions such as file on demand etc. to no avail. I have decided to simply remove one drive. But after unlinking, disinstalling and even after having emptied one drive of almost all files show 0.2 G remaining in web based, it still uses 88GB of storage as shown on settings/system/storage. Is there any simple way of fixing this ? Thank you.

    :)

    Relocating System Storage Folders

I'm currently running an SSD drive for my operating system. It's only 120 GB and what to do is move the storage folders (ie, My Music, My Videos, My Documents, etc etc etc) to another drive to reduce strain on the SSD Drive. As we all know SSD Drives can be fickle, but so far, it's run flawlessly. I'd like to keep it that way. Plus it's going to fail eventually, and it's a lot easier just to reinstall the operating system then to hope backup files didn't aren't corrupt or missing.

I know this an incredibly easy question, but it's been so long since I've messed this area of files, I just want to make sure I get it right the 1st time and Windows 10 is going to recognize where these folders were moved to. A step by step would be appreciated.

  3. The the detail of the storage used shown by the screen Settings\System\Storage\Other does not add to the total.

The total storage shown is 3.36 GB. The detail list a much smaller amount of storage. I need hard drive space and want to delete whatever is in the 3.36 GB.

how can when i save 50 GB to a 80 GB hard drive, it will change to 17 GB free? Need advice.

    Hi Joshua,

The AppData folder should not be moved to the other drive, that was not listed in the steps I provided, what part of those steps are you experiencing difficulty with?

One Drive vs Google Drive (paid versions for 100 GB cloud storage)): Hi there Seems to me that GOOGLE DRIVE is a much better bet than One Drive if you need more than the basic Free allowanace (5GB --not big enough for even a simple Macrium backup of a small Windows VM - 14 GB needed in my case). Ms One Drive offers 100GB for a monthly payment...
