  1. One Drive for Business not appearing in Navigation Pane

    Hi

I recently bought a new laptop and in setting it up my OneDrive for Business is not appearing in the navigation pane of my file explorer as it did with my previous laptop. I have logged into my account in word and it appears as normal in there, and I can access word documents through word, excel through excel etc., however I can't access any of the files through File Explorer. This is an issue when it comes to using programmes such as MATLAB where I specifically need to be able to access the locations of the files in order to open them.

For reference, I have included screenshots of what the navigation bar looked like on my current laptop and previous.

  2. Show fixed drives in navigation pane

    Hi,

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I understand your concern, I will be glad to assist you with this.

In order for the drives to appear in the navigation pane, I would suggest you to pin the drives in quick access. This way, every time you open file explorer, you will be able to easily access and see the drives on the navigation pane. To do so, follow the
    steps below:

    1. Press Windows key + E to open file explorer.

    2. Click This PC on the left pane.

    3. Left click on a drive and drag it under the quick access pane and release the mouse once you see the "pin to quick access" popup

    4. Repeat the steps for the remaining drives.

    Hope this helps.

Let us know if you need further assistance, we will be glad to help.

    Drive listing on navigation pane

Since updating to version 1511, I've noticed that the navigation pane in file explorer no longer lists my drives in order of the drive letters. They are now listed based on the nickname of the drive which after all these years makes it very confusing. I
now have to be scrolling the list to make sure I'm opening the correct drive. ANNOYING.

Is there a simple way to force the navigation pane to list them in order of drive letters?

How to get horiz scrolling in Navigation Pane in Win 10 Explorer

    Welcome to TenForums @linuxgarou

One suggestion would be to hover the mouse over the dividing line between the navigation pane and the list of files (it's the right-hand edge of the navigation pane's vertical scroll bar). When the pointer becomes a double-headed arrow you can click-and-drag to make the navigation pane wider.

I have mine set to about twice the width of the one in your screenshot.

Edit: and so apparently does Ztrucker in the following post.
