    One Drive has deleted my desktop. It was saying it didn't have permission at first. The I found out how to give it permission it then downloaded a bunch of junk. Then I tried to roll it back and everything is gone. Why is my OLD desktop OVERWRITING my new one? The new one should have been given priority. Are you really telling me that I need have a unique file name across EVERY computer? That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard. That's like saying I can't have a silver ware drawer in my new house and have to use the drawer from the old house. The address should matter more than the drawer la

    The other reason I suggested this is that users can add characters to their username that are not alphanumeric (e.g. user*). This confuses things somewhat when looking at the list.

    I suggest you to follow the steps below and check if it helps

    Method 1: You may check the same issue with the new user account.

    Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
    • Select Add an Account.
    • Enter a user name and hit next.
    • Click on Finish.
    • Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    • Check if issue persists.

    Optical Drive Issue

    Hi Jerry, you're welcome.

    Here's mine after I rt clk'd on my Documents Folder like you show in Scrsht 11:

    I'd like to wait until you reply to my question in Scrsht 12, if it is a remnant of the process try deleting the one on the dsktp and see if the one in send to also disappears. If it stays in send to, test it, and if you're still having problems I'd suggest you could go back to: Option One: To Add or Remove Items in Send To context menu for Your Account (current user) and do Step 3 to remove it and start over using Step 4 but be very careful of your steps in creating the shortcut and be sure you d&d that shortcut to the send to part of the address.

    I'm busy today and I probably won't be back until the evening.
