Windows 10: One Drive is really tenacious - I can't stop it!

I tried unlinking it.

I tried uninstalling it.

I tried deleting the folder and all the files.

But every time I look, there is the folder on my computer.


It must install itself when I turn on my computer.

Right now there is 133 GB's and over 100,000 files after just deleting them all yesterday.

I already have Carbonite and Google Drive so I really don't need it and it takes up a lot of space on my hard drive.


I don't even like it; when I really needed it, 6 months ago, and tried to get my files back from the server, it took many hours and all I got back were folder names. And they were all mixed up. And when I opened the folders, they were all empty. Man was I p_ _ _ _ _ d!

Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

What do you think?
