Windows 10: One Drive not syncing after setting up on new laptop and icon keeps disappearing and it...

I just set up a new laptop and the files transferred with Onedrive but it is not syncing and the icon keeps disappearing from the tray. It will appear momentarily and I will click on it and it says not connected but then it disappears before I can do anything. Some files still need to sync from old laptop but it seems to be stalled. The One Drive icon on old laptop says it is up to date. The missing icon is not in the hidden icon area and it is checked to show up in the tray. I tried some fixes but with the last one I got a message that said Windows cannot find C/Users/myusername/Appdata/local/microsoft/onedrive/update/onedrivesetup.exe


Help would be appreciated.

Google Drive Icon Constantly Disappears in Windows 10

It is possible that an icon may disappeared is because, the Show Desktop Icons is unchecked. For us to better isolate your concern, we'd like to gather more information:

• Does this happen also to another application or in Google Drive only?
• Have you made any recent changes before this issue occur?
• Did you get any error messages?

In the meantime, we recommend that you modify option for icons by following these steps:

• Right-click the Desktop.
• Select View.
• Checked Show Desktop Icon.

I think you just skipped a step - not right clicking on the program name to get to the properties option

 

One Drive icon disappears in taskbar

Over the past few weeks, the One Drive icon disappeared from the taskbar and the hidden taskbar, and stopped syncing with my iPhone and Android tablet. I have checked in Settings, Personalization, Taskbar Notification area, and One Drive is marked to appear
in the taskbar. I have also Reinstalled One Drive, through this code - %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\Update\OneDriveSetup.exe

After the reinstall, the icon did appear in the taskbar, and I could see that it was updating, etc. It also synced with my iPhone and Android tablet.

One week later, the icon disappeared again. Must I continue to reinstall the code every week, or is there another fix for this annoying problem? My laptop is a Dell Inspiron 15 and I am using Windows 10.
