Windows 10: One Drive wiped out folders

Prior to the May update, there was a different update that wiped out my entire Picture folder from One Drive. Let me be clear, I do not want One Drive or ANY cloud hosting service. They're unstable, unreliable and not secure. I have two internal backup drives and two external backup drives. I don't Microsoft holding my hand.


Now, because of that update, my entire portfolio of artwork has been wiped away with one update. We're talking over 10 years worth of artwork. When my system performed its nightly backup pulling everything from my main drive, which is not actually there because it all resides in your stupid One Drive cloud, it wiped out everything it backed up. I've tried to restore everything from software that I have but it was only able to pull fragments. Better than 2/3 have disappeared.


Yet, I stayed silent until now. Why? Because your May update created duplicate folders for everything. Documents, Pictures, Downloads, Music and so forth. I deleted the empty ones only to find out that when I download docs they go into One Drive Documents yet again. When I click on One Drive there is no document folder. I have to run a search on the file for it to come up and it shows it's in One Drive Documents but I swear it is not there.


I am not computer illiterate and know how to take care of my ****. I don't need you forcing your crappy One Drive on me. At this point, you should pay the thousands of dollars required to restore every single missing item in my personal folder. This is on Microsoft - FULL STOP.


I need to find the folder with all my documents in them so I can move them over to backup because the only one in there is my taxes folder. I know it's there but I have to search each file individually to access it. There must be thousands of documents there. If I can finish that, then I'm going to have to perform a clean install on this computer. At the very least - you owe me that.


I have never seen so much incompetence from a company that I rely on for work. This is just one example of countless failures from you folks. I'm at the point in investing thousands of dollars in a MAC because I really cannot deal with this **** any longer.

Map a network drive folder to my video library

To Include folders using Manage Library Tools, we suggest that you perform the steps below:

• In File Explorer, select or open a library (ex: Videos) you want to include a folder or drive to.
• Click on the Library Tools Manage tab, and click on the Manage library button in the ribbon.
• Click on the Add button
• Browse to and select a folder or drive that you want to include in this library, and click on the Include folder button.
• When finished, click/tap on OK.

Unable to delete a folder - Invalid folder name


Suggestion:

1. Run chkdsk x: /r to make sure that there's no HD corruption.
   x: is the drive containing the folder you want to delete.
2. Try to delete the folder again. If still does not work, go to step 3.
3. Download: Download - Linux Mint and create a bootable USB using: Rufus - Create bootable USB
4. Boot up with Linux Mint and try to delete the folder again.
   NOTE: Unlike WinPE. Linux does not have any Windows permission imposed to it so it is easier to delete.
