Windows 10: One Drive won't allow me to open downloaded files from Yahoo email

Hi,

I have a Yahoo email account from which I download attachments and emails to my One Drive account.

I try to open those downloaded files and am unable to. When I run diagnostics via the browser window with the invalid open response, I get this message:


Windows can't find a computer or device named "managers"

Windows can communicate with the name resolution server but can't find the host name


Please help.

Yahoo email

This may not help but certainly worth a try, I've moved to Firefox, tried Edge for maybe a year, it just continued to be not ready for prime time. AFAIK you still can't set a new tab to open as the active window in the foreground. MS has made browsers for years and Edge seems amateurish and clumsy, they made this one for touch devices.

FF is most like IE which was my preferred browser. Anyway, a link to thread is below and a quote of the post within that thread with the workaround.

yahoo emails say they are out of date

Let me suggest you to remove then add your Yahoo account which is configured to the Windows Mail. Please follow the steps below to remove your account:

• Open your Windows Mail
• Click the Settings
• Select Manage account then click your email
• Click Delete account then select Delete

After doing the steps above, add again your account and see if the issue still persist.
