Windows 10: One of my monitors started turning off when the lid closes

I have a single computer Samsung laptop w/ i7-1165G7 @ 2.80GHz processor, Windows 11 Home, version 22H2 pushing the visual output to dual monitors. I've done this since I've had the laptop. About a month ago, when I shut the lid, one of the monitors went blank. Everything I read online doesn't fix the problem. When I close the lid on battery and plugged-in, it's set to "do nothing" yet one monitor still dies when I close the lid.Can anyone reply with the repair sequence for this problem? I prefer running my laptop with the lid closed but now, when I do that, it only pushes images to one

Keep external monitors on when laptop lid is closed

Just in case this hasn't been resolved yet, you can get to the laptop lid settings by going to Start Menu and finding "Control Panel." When there, choose Hardware and Sound > Power Options. When on the "Power Options" screen, the list of options on the left should contain "Choose what closing the lid does." Choose that option and you should see settings for "When I close the lid" when "On battery" and when "Plugged in." You could choose to set both to "Do nothing." I usually set the "Plugged in" option to "Do nothing" when connected to external monitors.

NOTE: There is a quick way to get here from the Settings app too. There should be a "Find a setting" search box on the left. Type "lid" in there and hit Enter. A suggestion should come up that says "Change what closing the lid does." If you select that suggestion, it will take you to the same Control Panel location I mentioned above.

 

Close laptop lid - external monitor

Yep. The computer remained and I could use the external monitor. But all windows on the laptop screen moved over. Currently when the lid is closed, the windows remain on the laptop screen which is then "off"

Hi

I have a surface pro 4 and connected via the surface dock (the new one) are 2 monitors and in my power settings (see screenshot) i have it so when i close the lid (the surface pro 4 type cover) on my surface it should do nothing but when i first do close
the lid the surface monitor turns off. after i change the screen setting to PC only then back to extended to get my surface monitor back on closing the lid works fine and doesn't turn off my surface monitor.





Any help would be appreciated
