Windows 10: One or more network protocols are missing from this computer error

Honestly I do not know the answer to why the WinSock / WinSock2 where corrupted in windows 10 machine -- I did save the corrupted files and will try and do a line by line comparison to see the differences are and have a more comprehensive understanding of the problem.

 

is it possible to downgrade to windows 7? would that even help? has anyone reinstalled 10 and had that solve the issue?

 

and what if you don't have access to a win7 machine? can you upload your files?

also i am pretty sure i tried this before with 8.1 reg files and it didn't work, plus i just did it again using my reg files from my working win10 laptop and that didn't work either. . .

Someone has redid my post -- but the info is still there -- there are actually Two Files with different names -- Read #46 carefully and do it accordingly. These text files came from a Windows 7 SP1 machine. I installed them in my Windows 10 machine and the problems went away -- The Windows 10 Files are some how corrupt.

 

Worked for me but now I have to reset my wireless adapter every 5 mins with no error message - just timing out.

This is the second Win10 machine with issue. The best advertisement for Apple is Microsoft. Unbelievable.

 

On your wireless adapter issue: 1st. Un-install the driver in Device manager and re-install driver. There are always Error message go to => Control Panel => Administrative Tools => Event viewer => Windows Logs => Search for something that might cause problem.

 

Still waiting for a fix, have tried everything mentioned online with no results.
The only thing that looks promising is reinstalling TCP/IP but like with everyone else
I get the same group policy error.. so right now some websites (thankfully not many) are just straight up not loading on this machine..
God knows why.. this should be something SFC should fix...

I've already tried setting the permissions in the registry before. Although netsh comes up with everything being ok, it still doesn't fix the issue.
