One or more network protocols are missing, solution

Hello, I just had this very annoying issue for a while, and scouring the internet proved to no avail. However, I stumbled upon the solution by myself. Simply go into an elevated command prompt and enter netsh int ipv4 install and restart your computer.

This is what solved the problem for me, though I had already tried a few suggestions (resetting winsock, giving permissions in NSI, etc) so that might have something to do with it. If moderators are displeased with me making a new thread about it, the please move it to where it should be.

    Best of luck.

    :)

Network Protocols are missing ,one or more network protocols are missing from this computer" error message.

I have the same problem, and tried what you listed on original post too. Been trying to fix this for over a months now, but no help at all. Windows 10 seems to be badly broken in the networking department. Very frustrated

    Hello Khoin,

I've been troubled by this as well. Disabling IPv6 on the network card properties seemed to solve it permanently (and without any of the other fixes suggested.) Kind of makes sense since the computers that I was trying to connect to were not IPv6 enabled.

Random solutions for one problem, varies from one system to another. Good to know there's a solution that might help.

I doubt it. If the same problem happens on multiple systems, the only common ground being the same OS build, its highly likely that the problems share the same source. The fact that there are different solutions to similar problems does not invalidate that.

Bumping the thread. Please reply to it if it works (or not), both so that others can see it and to gauge whether this is an actual solution or just coincidence.

  14. I used my new pc for 6 days and it was fine: downloaded Windows 10, Open Office, etc and the wifi was perfect.
Just once I lost wifi, rebooted and it was fine again.

Then while working online I got this problem. I have followed the advice (which has worked for some)
    - elevated command prompt
    - netsh int ipv4 install
    - reboot

Still failed. I also disabled ipv6. No good.

Note that my problem affects wifi and also LAN connection with cable.

    Any other ideas please?

  15. When I tried it, I got the message "The following command was not found: int ipv4 all."

Ran it with admin command prompt from system32 folder. netsh.exe is there, but apparently the script (or whatever) is missing. I'm on Windows 10 Home, version 1511, build 10586.36.
