Windows 10: One out of three child account unable to access new computer.

I purchased a refurb computer from Amazon. Windows 10 installed. I signed in and set up my Microsoft account. I then went and added my kids. The e-mails popped up automatically because they are already set up in our family account. So I tried adding my son. I approved his account, and then signed out and tried to sign in to his account. When I do, it says it's going to email him a code. It did not. I fought with it for hours trying thing after thing but nothing worked. I decided to come here and write this except I decided to add my daughters as well. They were added just fine, with no prompt

Child account

I did set up a Child account, I did fallow all the steps window ask, the account say that the child is in the family, when I tried to log, give me the message "The Profile Service service Failed The Sign-in. User Profile cannot be loaded".

Answering your questions:

• Did you make any changes to the child account prior to the issue? No, I did not make any changes.
• Since when you are facing this issue? Right from the start. I never got to login.
• Are you able to login with other child accounts on the computer? No

I suggest you to restart the computer once and check if you are able to login to the computer. I did, the same problem, I do not have any problem with my account or my wife.

Unable to remove child account from Family

Thanks Elise. Your suggestion worked. I contacted live chat option via "Get Help" app.

Just for others who read this in future I had performed the following steps to solve the issue.

1. Log into Microsoft Family Safety
   
2. Select 3 dots on the top right of child's card & select "Remove consent for this child's account"
   
3. It then warns, "You are about to remove parental consent for this child. They will no longer have permissions to access certain Microsoft sites and services."
   
4. Click on "Remove consent" button
   
5. Go back to Microsoft Family Safety home page. Wait for few seconds for settings to reflect. The child account will disappear from family home page.
   

 

Unable to access or reset child account password

• Select change password under your email account.
