  1. One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only

Hi,I have a strange issue with one user. We have dozens of users using RDP, but this one user experiences RDP connection drops every day, only when he starts working. Usually it happens between 07:50 and 08:00 AM and he loses the connection just once and for the rest of the day he can work just fine. What I've done:- Deleted the RDP cache- Disabled bitmap caching for RDP- Disk cleanup- DISM- Chkdsk- Sfc scan- Fully updated his Windows 10 installation- Deleted unnecessary files/programs that might conflict- Rebooting his machineDespite all of that the issue persist and I don't know what more I c

RDP and Network Connection Drops While on Ethernet

    I have the following setup:

2 x windows 10 and 1 X windows 7 computers connected to the same router through cable having 192.168.0.1 as the router gateway.

    win7-box: 192.168.0.38
    win10-box1: 192.168.0.211
    win10-box2: 192.168.0.24

I am connecting from win7-box, which I'm using as the main machine, through RDP to the other 2 win10 machines.

The connection to 192.168.0.211 runs smoothly but when I connect to 192.168.0.24, the connection gets interrupted after 30-60 seconds and I get the "This computer can't connect to the remote computer" error:

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only 30014d1554747486t-rdp-network-connection-drops-while-ethernet-whatsapp-image-2019-04-07-18.26.40.jpg

While ping 192.168.0.24 -t from 192.168.0.38 was running I got this:

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only 230015d1554747511t-rdp-network-connection-drops-while-ethernet-etherneterr-ping.png

Even if after the The connection has been lost error that corresponds to the Request timed out ping error - the connection seems to be restored (as ping is up again), if I try to RDP again I get the "Destination host unreachable" error.

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only 230016d1554747526t-rdp-network-connection-drops-while-ethernet-etherneterr-rdp.png

Now I cannot RDP to 192.168.0.24 anymore until I manually log into this host by physically using its keyboard.

I also did a ping 192.168.0.1 -t on 192.168.0.24 and noticed the General Failure error that corresponds to the Request timed out from the win7-box

    enter image description here

I also noticed that I get the General Failure error intermittently, even if don't try a RDP connection on this win10-box2 machine.

    What I did:

I tried a Network Reset from the Network&Internet settings:

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only 230017d1554747544t-rdp-network-connection-drops-while-ethernet-networkreset.png

    • Tried switching the cable itself and the cable port on the router
    • Tried using a different static ip, other than 192.168.0.24
    • Tried using the wireless connection to the same router and noticed that even if do get some isolated Request timed out error when continuously pinging win10-box's ip, no issues are found and RDP connection is stable.

I assume this has to be something wrong in my current win10-box2 configuration as the router seems to be working fine on other devices.

The network configuration on win10-box2 is as follows:

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only 230018d1554747574t-rdp-network-connection-drops-while-ethernet-ipconfig.png

The question would be - what else should I try/check in order to solve this issue?

RDP and Network Connection Drops While on Ethernet

    Sam,

    1. Even without issuing the ping -t command I will experience a RDP drop and network bottleneck
    2. RDP clients are the same version
    3. No firewall setup
    4. All connecting with the same cables from similar ports

    winbox1 has full duplexTrue
winbox2 does not have duplex True

Pretty sure it's something with the network setup, I might reinstall the OS

One user has RDP connection drops between 07:30 and 08:00 only

RDP: If I save .rdp files with different users for the same target, it will log in with the previous user's credentials

If I save .rdp files with different users for the same target, it will log in with the previous user's credentials.- Make an admin.rdp file with the administrator login and tell it to save the password.
    - Make another normal.rdp file with the normal login and tell it to save the password
    - Connect using the admin.rdp file and log in administrator
    - Connect using the normal.rdp file and it will AUTOMATICALLY login you in as ADMINISTATOR.
    - Type cmdkey /list:*|more
    - There will be ONE listing for that target with the user name of Administrator- Look inside the both .rdp files with notepad. One shows Administrator and the other normal.
    - Edit the normal and it shows Administrator. Tell it to forget the credentials and it returns to normal.
    - Connect using normal.rdp and log in.
    - Type cmdkey /list:*|more
    - There will be ONE listing for that target with the user name of Normal
    - Connect with the Admin.rdp and it will log you in as user normal.

This used to work. Now you can only have one user per target. It doesn't matter what kind of games you play with Generic, Domain Password, with TERMSRV or without, it only allows 1 user name per computer no matter what name is contained in the .rdp file. The .rdp will run only who that last user was, not the name in the .rdp file.

    Thanks!
