Windows 10: OneDrive Account Removal from Desktop

I previously linked my work OneDrive account to my personal laptop however, I now need to remove this OneDrive account from my personal laptop. I need to do this without deleting the OneDrive account itself as I need this account still on my work laptop and all of the files within it, need to remain in tact as they are.I have tried removing it via the unlinking route and via the Windows + R, regedit route, but neither of these have worked.How can I remove this from my personal laptop safely without deleting the account?

Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:

1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

I'm running Windows 10 Pro Build 10586. I have a OneDrive personal and a OneDrive business link setup. I believe I had to run a registry edit to enable the "Add a business account" option under OneDrive account settings. I think the new OneDrive business sync client is the same or essentially the same as the personal sync client, and the business option wasn't enabled by default. I'm trying to track down where Microsoft listed those steps, but I can't find it. I'm guessing that having both Personal and Business might be interfering with the method you posted?

I understand that you are facing issues while removing the device from your Microsoft account as it keeps popping back after removing.



It could be possible that the device was using OneDrive with the same Microsoft account and that might be the reason you are able to see the device listed under your profile. I would suggest you to remove the device from OneDrive
and see if that helps.



You can follow the steps to remove the device from OneDrive.

1. Login to
   https://onedrive.live.com.
2. Now on the left hand pane click on PC’s.
3. Now click on the devices that are listed under PC’s and on the right hand side click on
   Remove PC.
