  1. OneDrive and Microsoft Account

I have just factory reset my laptop since I have recently bought a PC and I logged into my Microsoft account on both of the devices. I am planning on using the laptop for travel still. When I restarted the laptop I noticed many blank url shortcuts on my home screen, all of which belonged to games I play on my PC. I am not in need of those games on the laptop and will not be downloading them but when I try to delete the shortcuts it says the files will be removed from all of my devices that I am logged into. Does this mean it will remove them from my PC as well? Im a bit confused about that bec

  2. Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

Yea, I would create a local account and just use your school account to login to Outlook and Onedrive.

    Edit:

Here switch between local and microsoft account.

  3. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

    OneDrive and Microsoft Account

Windows 8 with 2 Microsoft accounts?

I was thinking of doing that, but it will be a PITA setting everything up on the 2nd account again. I might go that way and just spend the time getting the account in order.

The problem is, I would need to switch at the start of every day. Extra reset and waiting for the settings to be applied etc. Also, I'm not sure whether one drive would be maintained after switching back to a local account. I wouldn't want to have to re-sync every time I logged in. I may have to do some testing to see if onedrive is maintained after switching back to a local account.
