  1. OneDrive chews up CPU a lot and slows me down. How can I make it perform better?

I have 875GB of data stored on OneDrive. I don't know the amount of data has anything to do with it, but I often find myself waiting on the computer, hearing the fans get loud, and I really can't do much at all until I wait it out.

When I look at Task Manager I always see something like this:

OneDrive chews up CPU a lot and slows me down. How can I make it perform better? 72d56e33-c5ef-4503-b194-d3f7315009e7?upload=true.png

In this case I wasn't pinned and stuck, but it was definitely slowing me down.

I'm running on an original Surface Book, and I just did a fresh reset of it about a month ago. It's been running much better in general since that, but this problem with OneDrive still remains.

It seems like expected behavior as I notice it on all devices that I use. Is it because the amount of data I'm working with that it has to scan for changes so much?

Is there anything I can do to help configure this so it works better for me?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    :)

    DWM uses lot of CPU

Thanks for your answer and help!

I performed the suggested actions, but unfortunately no result. I just repeated the troubleshooting but no results.

This morning the same occurred DWM took lots of CPU and UI is slowing down to unworkable. It took 10-15 min and then is was normal again.

Is there Anything I can Do?

    Thanks,

    Paul

OneDrive chews up CPU a lot and slows me down. How can I make it perform better?

Only 54% CPU Usage Maximum :'(

    Hello,

The lower the CPU usage, the better. Most applications will not use up more than 50% of your CPU for an extended period of time. To verify, what are the usual applications that you run on your PC? Does your PC slow down at 54%?

If your PC slows down at 54%, check this article: Tips to improve PC performance in Windows 10. Click on
