    OneDrive Cloud: searching, deleting bulk duplicate photos on OneDrive cloud but NOT on PC


    For my mobile phone photos, they get saved in the Photos section of OneDrive in the cloud. They are NOT synchronised to my laptop. However those photos in the cloud have hundreds or thousands of duplicates. What steps / software can one use to purge them in the cloud? Having spent a few hours searching this problem online, most of the solutions deal with duplicate files and photos in OneDrive on the computer hard drive.

    Hi Folks,

    1) I've got this problem ^, duplicate photos have been appearing in my OneDrive cloud storage for a while now, often several of the same, not just one. I've done a bit of searching for how to fix this, but the simple solution here didn't work. I'd really
    like to stop it from happening as it is needlessly using up my storage space, and I need to nip it in the bud before I have thousands of duplicates to deal with.

    I'm also a bit concerned about using a third-party app to *remove* the duplicates in case they completely remove photos altogether (can anyone recommend a reliable app for this?)

    2) Also, I deleted some photos from my phone which is linked to OneDrive, and some disappeared in OneDrive cloud, and some didn't, even after deleting them from the recycle bin on my phone, and reloading the OneDrive page several times. Does that make sense?

    delete files on PC but not cloud

    I have run out of room on my windows 10 Stream PC , I would like to delete some photos on the PC but keep the photos on the cloud Onedrive. I tried turning off sync and deleting a photo but when I put sync back on the phot was deleted from the onedrive
    cloud.

    OneDrive and "the cloud".

    If OneDrive and "the cloud" are synonymous, does this mean that when I do a full image backup to an external drive ((Macrium Reflect) the OneDrive folder on my pc will not be backed-up becase it is not on the pc really but "in the Cloud" on a Microsoft
    server or somewhere? Thanks for any info.
