Windows 10: OneDrive deleting photos stored on my hard drive

Started with OneDrive on an older laptop, it uploaded and synced all my pictures that were stored on my laptop hard drive and new ones when I uploaded them to my laptop. Get a new laptop, download all my pictures from OneDrive. But now I'm working in OneDrive instead of on my hard drive and it's painfully slow. So I manually copy my photos over to my hard drive and put them in a folder named Photos One drive folder is called 'Pictures". I switch off the sync to and it's no longer super slow to edit, rename etc. my pictures. I've done a fair amount of work so I turn on to upload these photos

Photos deleted from gallery, deleted on Onedrive

It sounds like your photos deleted from gallery have also been deleted on Onedrive.

First I suggest you try to check maybe the Deleted Galary on your phone to see if it's possible to get deleted photos back. Then you may try to visit the OneDrive website to see if the photos you synced are there. If not, you may follow the steps listed on this link | Find lost or missing files in OneDrive (microsoft.com) to see if they could be found back.

Stored files in Hard Drive

I'd like to know if there's a way of listing all the files stored in my hardware and arrange them by size, because I want to keep track of what's on my hard drive. Thanks, I hope you answer.

 

Recent shortcuts for apps show files on OneDrive instead of local hard drive

I was able to follow the steps and uncheck the "Use Office apps to sync" box but it didn't change Office's behavior. I opened and closed an Excel spreadsheet on my local hard drive. After that, when I right-clicked on the Excel icon pinned to the taskbar, a link to the OneDrive cloud file was in the list of recent files instead of a link to the file on my hard drive.

Do you have any other suggestions?
