Windows 10: OneDrive desktop back up removed old desktop folder

Hi, since yesterday, I chose to back up my desktop with OneDrive.In making this switch, OneDrive moved all of my desktop files to the Users/myuser/OneDrive/Desktop folder, and I am guessing linked my actual desktop to that folder instead of the users/myuser/Desktop folder.But I have a lot of programming projects and other location dependent files on my desktop, so is there a way I can:Create a link from the Users/myuser/Desktop folder that currently doesn't exist anymore to the users/myuser/OneDrive/Desktop folder?Or move the Desktop folder back to its original place while OneDrive backs it

OneDrive moved my Desktop into a OneDrive folder and removed Google Drive

To revert the shell folder locations to default, open OneDrive and do the following:

Important: Before proceeding, copy the files in those special folders to another folder or external drive. Please don’t copy them anywhere under Desktop/Documents/Pictures. This is because disabling OneDrive backup for a folder would erase the local copies of the files. Copying them to a different location beforehand will ensure that you don’t need to download them again from the OneDrive cloud.

1. Right-click the OneDrive icon in the Notification area and click Settings.
   
2. Select the Backup tab, and click Manage Backup
   
3. In the Manage folder backup dialog, click on the Stop backup link under the special folder (Desktop, Documents, or Pictures)
   
4. Click Stop backup in the confirmation dialog that appears.
   
5. Repeat the step for each shell folder you want to revert to the original location.

Desktop folders still have OneDrive prefix?

Hello,

I have uninstalled OneDrive, and attempted to stop everything from Syncing with it.

There is no OneDrive Icon in the tray, nor is there any Microsoft OneDrive app in the apps list.

Yet my desktop folder path remains C:\Users\username\OneDrive\Desktop

How can I ensure that OneDrive is eradicated from my PC, and how do I remove the prefix from the folders?

 

Cannot Remove OneDrive from Desktop

Hey everybody, ran into a problem that I can't seem to fix and was hoping for some help.

I had to reinstall Windows 10 the other day and in doing so, OneDrive came up. I uninstalled it from the Control Panel, but it left an empty folder on my desktop, which appears in the toolbar as well as in Explorer.

I ran the suggested registry changes as described here: How to remove OneDrive desktop icon Solved - Windows 10 Forums

Still, nothing.

Any ideas on how I can fix this annoying issue?
