Windows 10: onedrive desktop issues

so, i connected my one drive to my laptop. the laptop had another one drive that it was previously connected to but was signed out of, so i connected another onedrive account i had to it instead. after it began to sync i am now getting an error with certain directories, most notably my with desktop not the desktop directory but the actual desktop. the error claims either there is "no such directory path" or the "directory name is invalid". it seems when i click on a file or a PDF on my desktop it is trying to access it from the onedrive directory path instead of the hardrive's desktop directory path. is there a fix for this? i can work around it by moving stuff to folders on the desktop and then opening them from within the folders, but just clicking on PDFs or txt documents doesn't work yet powerpoint works for some reason... any ideas?

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
