Windows 10: OneDrive folder on D drive, D drive bitlocked, catastrophe comes

Hi,I believe this is a subject for Microsoft Windows development department.Three notebooks, all - OneDrive folder in D - D bitlocked - OneDrive launchs at start-up Catastrophe on two notebooks, no problem on one notebook.spending hours and hours trying to understand what is wrong When the computer is started from zero not from hibernated status1 A Windows 10 Pro notebook faced this.A few seconds after the start of the notebooknaturally, I was getting the warning, "OneDrive could not find the folder.."I was unlocking DThen clicking, "Try Again" for OneDriveAll right but with these p

Automatically backing up folders on D: drive to OneDrive

Hi Dale. I'm Greg, 10 years awarded Windows MVP, here to help you.

Symlinks won't work with OneDrive so what I'd do instead of moving D into OneDrive is to move OneDrive to D which is easy to do during it's setup.

You can unlink OneDrive and then sign back in, during setup move the OneDrive folder to D drive. Then anything you put into OneDrive on D drive goes to the cloud, put it elsewhere in D and it doesn't.

You could also move your User folders into OneDrive on the D drive as shown here: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-move-default.... . This is the same as enabling OneDrive backup but it works for all User folders and not just Desktop, Documents and Pictures.



Report back results for each step so I know what else to suggest.

How do I 'undo' the mklink /j "%UserProfile%\OneDrive\D_Desktop" "D:\Desktop"?

My OneDrive folder IS on D: as is the OneDriveTemp folder.

Think I've already MOVED the user folder to the D: drive; at least when I type %HOMEPATH% in the run command, the D: drive opens.

Still don't know how to backup folders on D: to OneDrive.

I'm sorry, but OneDrive is NOT intuitive or friendly. I've searched the web for answers to this question but so far, nothing has been helpful. Microsoft REALLY isn't helpful with anything involving drives other than C:. Many people have additional drives to store data and Windows ignores this fact. I digress.

I want to automatically back up folders on my D: drive to OneDrive. I found one site that suggested:

mklink /j "%UserProfile%\OneDrive\D_Desktop" "D:\Desktop"

But the backed-up folder never appeared in OneDrive.

Is there any way to do this easily. If I select folders in OneDrive, it obviously backs up folders from the C: drive and doesn't give options to choose other drives/folders.
