Windows 10: OneDrive Folders Slow Opening

Double clicking any folder or file that is synced using OneDrive has a ~1 second delay before the folder/file actually opens. These files are are all stored locally on my computer. This delay is the same whether the folder is empty or is 2GB with thousands of files. This delay does not occur when:Using the sidebaar to view foldersUsing the explorer in any other program using file>open in any programOneDrive has been unlinked from my computerOpening any file tht is not in a cloud synced folder ie. downloadsI have tried:Quitting OneDriveUnlinking and relinking OneDrive The problem stops,

I'm Hahn and I'm here to help you with your concern.

Based on your description, we suggest that you can do it all over again as follows:

• Open OneDrive settings on your computer.
  
• Go to the "Accounts" tab and click on "Unlink this computer".
  
• Restart your computer.
  
• Delete the D:/OldOneDrive folder.
  

You can try renaming the old OneDrive folder to something else, then create a new OneDrive folder and set it as a local folder in the OneDrive app.

If the above does not work, then you can try the following steps:

• Open a "Command Prompt" on your computer (run as administrator).
  
• Type rd /s /q "D:\OldOneDrive" and press Enter.
  

This will delete the "OldOneDrive" folder and all its contents.

• Create a new folder in D:/ and name its OneDrive.
  
• Open the OneDrive application and log in.
  
• During the setup process, choose to change the OneDrive folder location to D:/OneDrive.
  

Please note that this will permanently delete the "OldOneDrive" folder and all its contents, so please ensure that you have backed up all your important data.

onedrive duplicating my folders...

Hi.

Again, onedrive is going crazy and is duplicating my main folder, full of subfolders. It's locking me out of all my files. I have windows 10, Office 365 home. I paused synch at the moment before I have 1000 copy of my folder, which I can't open anyway!
Please don't ask me any question that will further delay the repair. Simply give me a step by step solution and then improve onedrive so this won't happen again to so many of us. I suggest you also add "onedrive" in the list of "Windows Topics" below since
thousands of users have issues with it.

OneDrive slow to open folders - not sync speed

Hello all, My Onedrive is painfully slow in opening folders, even empty ones and even sync'd ones. Whichever folder I open it takes about 30 seconds to display. If I try to open a file, it takes 30 seconds before downloading. Whether the file is local or not. Onedrive says all is sync'd. I have reinstalled OneDrive several times. I am a bit stuck. Any help? I am on Windows 10 21H1, Onedrive is version 2021 build 21.205.1003.0005 64 bit Thanks!
