Windows 10: OneDrive interfered with Carbonite restore

I have a subscription with Carbonite so that I can get access to files regardless of device operating system.I bought a new PC with Windows 11. Old PC is also Windows 11 When I tried to restore from Carbonite, OneDrive "moved" files and folders from the original location "C:\Users\****\" to inside the "C:\Users\***\OneDrive" folder.All my files appear to be there, however the "extra" level is making things DIFFICULT.How do I get my restored files back to the "correct" level?How do I get the Quick Access tabs such as "Documents" to point to the correct level, after getting my files and fold

I purchased a new computer. When I restored my computer from Carbonite, the files will not open. They were created with MS Works 2006. Carbonite told me I need to ask for help from Microsoft.

 

OneDrive conflicting with Carbonite

I've used Carbonite for years with no problem, but since moving to Windows 10 was having real problems with Carbonite getting stuck part way, etc.. Have been told that this is because it conflicts with OneDrive. I wasn't even aware that I was using OneDrive,
and don't particularly want to do so, as I have no need for document-sharing and so forth.

However, it looks as if OneDrive has been 'kidnapping' all sorts of files and folders and, when I try to copy the item and move it back to a desktop folder, the system just keeps saying 'Copying from OneDrive to OneDrive' How do I stop this happening, and
how can I save things where I know they can be properly backed-up?

HELP!

 

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.
