Windows 10: OneDrive is uploading very slowly after format

    OneDrive is uploading very slowly after format


    I formatted my computer the other day. In the process, I moved the files (I keep all the files on OneDrive also on my own computer) to a new drive folder and set it up in the OneDrive app on systray. Instead of just confirming all the files are the same, it's reuploading all 237GB worth. Not a problem except it's moving at a snails pace. In 24 hours, I've only managed to upload 20GB worth and there are no limits set.

    Why is OneDrive not just confirming files and why does the upload speed suck so badly?

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

    Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

    If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
