    OneDrive issue

I've been using Windows 10 on my computer for a couple years. I've been using OneDrive to store some files in the cloud. It didn't sync with my computer. There are five folders on OneDrive, Attachments, Documents, Music, Pictures and Public. I have subfolders and files under the Documents and Pictures folders on OneDrive but they weren't synced with my computer. I would just save certain files to OneDrive using the Save As dialog box or copy and paste a file to OneDrive through Windows Explorer if I wanted to have them available from another device.

My hard drive crashed and I had to reinstall Windows 10. I'm signed into Windows and OneDrive with the same Microsoft account I had been using before the crash. When I access OneDrive in Windows Explorer as I had been on the previous drive, it's empty. There's no Documents or Pictures folder or any folders for that matter. I went into the OneDrive settings and made sure it was set to not sync any folders on the new drive because I don't want the files on my PC to be copied up to OneDrive I just want to be able to access the files that are already saved there.

I have the OneDrive app on my phone and my files are available there. If I go to https://onedrive.live.com and sign in, my files are visible there as well.

How do I get access to my OneDrive files using Windows Explorer as I had been doing before my drive crashed without having to sync?

    :)

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

OneDrive folder icon changed to plain

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
again and check. Here is the steps:

    • Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

(You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
      OneDrive icon.)

    • Click Settings, and then click Unlink.

    • Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.
Do notify us if the issue still persists and we'll be glad to help.
