Windows 10: Onedrive: Moved Documents folder still in userprofile

I have synched my Documents folder via OneDrive, which is situated on my D:\ drive.But it is still shown in my %USERPROFILE%.opening the folder via Userprofile, the file properties place the files in my D:\OneDrive\Documents\but I need to remove the documents folder since I have programs that need their data in %USERPROFILE%\Documents, which I don't want to be synched.in CMD calling dir on %USERPROFILE% the documents folder is not listed, even though I can see it in the explorer.deleting the %USERPROFILE%\Documents folder also deletes my files from my Onedrivethe move process was done by OneD

Open the Registry Editor again, it will still be on the same page

Double click Personal and set its value data to this, then click OK

%USERPROFILE%\Documents

Double click {f42ee2d3-909f-4907-8871-4c22fc0bf756} and set its value data to this, then click OK

%USERPROFILE%\Documents

Close the Registry Editor and restart your PC

That will have moved all references to your Documents folder to the one inside your User folder, and not the OneDrive folder, you may need to manually move a few files into that correct Documents folder . . .

That Documents folder will now be used by all applications by default . . .

Yes, after you make the changes to the registry, restart, then move any required folders and files to that Documents folder if needs be . . .

Should you ever need to revert that registry edit at any time, then set the value data to this:

%USERPROFILE%\OneDrive\Documents

You can refer to the following work around. This will help you to choose the folders to sync on Onedrive.

  Right click on OneDrive icon of
  System Tray.

  Click on Settings, then click on
  choose folders tab.
