If I open and changes this .odt files stored locally I don´t access my files frome OneDrive Online, make changes and then try to close this files, I am asked if I will save the changes, what is exactly what I would expect. So it goes if I work with my .odt files within a short time period. But if the .odt files are opened a long time and I then close them, the changes save automatically - I am not asked if I want to save changes. How could I stop it? It is desirable that if my computer crashes, my actually edited files are saved even if I didn´t manually saved them. But if everything works n

  2. Saving files locally only and not on OneDrive

If you have disabled syncing, no syncing can occur. For an extra step, make sure that your OneDrive folder is empty and, in the OneDrive app settings, make sure that you have selected no folders to sync.

If you have Office 365, you need to take an extra step: Office 365 stores Office files in OneDrive by default. To store files locally, open any Office app and go to File > Options > Save > Save documents > Save to computer by default

Some things to keep in mind:

1- You can uninstall the OneDrive app. There's no harm in doing this. Microsoft may re-install the app as part of a Windows Update, which is understandable because Microsoft considers the OneDrive app to be a key feature of Windows. You don't have to agree, which is fine, that's why Microsoft makes it possible to uninstall the OneDrive app.

I personally do not use the OneDrive app and have uninstalled it. I don't see why I have to sync my computer with OneDrive, but that's just my view. If I want to store something in OneDrive, I simply open my OneDrive [ Your request has been blocked. This could be due to several reasons. ] and drag the file to the OneDrive interface.

2- OneDrive is for syncing, not for backup. OneDrive is actually a poor choice for backing up, although it's better than nothing. To backup, get commercial backup software. You'll be glad you did.

Unable Search for .odt (LibreOffice Docs) file formats using File Contents.

    Hello,

I just want to let you know that the search still does not work.

I have also tried the File Explore by using a keyword, ".odt: keyword."

The result shows only .odt doc files with names which include the keyword.

No .odt doc files which contain the keyword in the body.

As mentioned in the original post, I have done everything that was suggested including:

    1. Run the DISM Tool.
    2. Run the System File Checker utility.
I hope that someone knows how to resolve the issue.

Saving files locally only and not on OneDrive

I don't want to access my files on any other device. For now, I want all my files stored locally on my PC. I've disabled backup to OneDrive and now all I have in my local Documents folder is a shortcut called "Where are my files" which links to OneDrive.

All I want to do is disable autosynching and only save files to my local PC. I have tried unlinking my PC, but I've still not been able to have all my files save to my local drive.

How can I stop autosynching and save all my files back to my local PC?

    TIA.
