Windows 10: OneDrive, problem that any share file link to anyone always asked for a password.

I have a personal OneDrive account and just updated it to 1TB so I backup and store files. However the problem is that when I try to share any file and send the link to anyone they are always asked for a password. They do not have OneDrive but are always asked to login so they can't open any link I send them. I have tested all setting on links and have sent many links but they all have the same problem. No one can open them.

Did you complete all of the steps in all of the tutorials in my initial post which covers everything possible? The reason I ask is that your reply post to that long list referred only to Onedrive which was not it's focus of trying to get sharing working.

What about adding a password to the other account now prompting for password as discussed in the first links?

Sharing on OneDrive is as simple as right clicking the file or folder to choose Share a OneDrive Link, then paste the link into an email or text to send to the recipient. Below that on the right click is More OneDrive Options which let's you set parameters
for sharing.

• Do you have any other user account or is the issue specific to your user account?
• Are you able to share after password ?

Since you have already tried the logical troubleshooting, I would suggest you to make change in the group policy and check the issue. Refer the link below:

Note: The link is for Windows 7 however the same steps has been tested on Windows 10.

Network Sharing Failure: Password Protection off still require password.

OneDrive - shared link - one is required to create an account first?

I don't share files often, or better, I hardly share files.

Now I shared a video.
Uploaded the video to OneDrive, right-click share, created a link, and sent it by mail to the person I wanted to share the file with (having a Gmail account)

That person tried to open the link and reported back that he should first create an account.

Huh..?

Did I overlook a step somewhere?
