  1. OneDrive renamed my files and I can't change them back

A few weeks ago, OneDrive was overworking my files, constantly locking and uploading even old, untouched documents, taking a lot of resources in the process. So my company IT told me to disconnect from OneDrive and then reconnect. After reconnecting, OneDrive took a day of my life to re-download all my files which were set, by the way, to "Always on this device."I don't really understand which files they downloaded. It seems like they were files from an original upload, because these were older files that OneDrive downloaded to my computer. Whenever OneDrive encountered a conflict, it renamed

  2. Cannot rename files and folders in OneDrive

If you encounter the same concern for files and folders saved outside the
    OneDrive
folder, it's possible that the issue can be associated to the recent update. To determine the possible cause, we suggest that you run a full scan (SFC) and
DISM to automatically fix any corrupted registry files. To do this, follow the steps created by community MVP
    ZigZag3143 on this
    wiki article
. Once you're done, check if you can now rename your files and folders on your device.

Let us know if you encounter any challenges along the process.

  3. Cannot rename files and folders in OneDrive

    Hi,

Failure to rename the folders stored in your OneDrive folder may indicate a possible sync error. As an initial step to refresh OneDrive, you can unlink the account by performing the steps provided on this

    link
to re-sync your folders. Once your done, check if you encounter the same error.

In addition, sign-in to your account through
    onedrive.live.com
and check if you can rename folders through the web.

We'll appreciate if you can send us an update.

  4. OneDrive renamed my files and I can't change them back

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
