OneDrive shared files icons / Files on demand???

Hi, after moving to a new laptop both old and new have Windows 11 this one has a newer version of OneDrive 24.111.... and now the option for files on demand, which I had OFF in my old laptop, it's not just a on off switch anymore so I cannot tell if it's OFF or not.But what happens is that in my old laptop with files on demand off, the icons for shared files in file explorer while on details view used to have the green tick within the same file icon excel, word, etc and I did not have a Status column with the green tick or the white cloud. But now, the file icons are standard with no "su

File History & OneDrive on Demand

I know that "files on demand" aren't saved on my computer. However, I still have the following problems:

    • After starting a new File History backup from scratch (as suggested in the first response) the majority of my Onedrive , including almost all files that are marked as "Always Keep on this Device" are not backed up.
    • Even for files marked as "Files on Demand" - surely File History should be able to back them up anyway? The whole point of a good backup system is that you have copies of files in multiple places (and OneDrive's cloud system only counts as 1). The creation
of the file history would be download heavy as it copies every file to my backup device, but after that it should only have to download single files as changes are made.

  3. Onedrive file on demand - why do 'stop sharing' files go to Recycle bin?

    Hello,

I'm using OneDrive file on demand (Home paid version). I first share a file with an employee. The employee uses file on demand so that the file is accessible from their desktop. Now suppose i stop sharing the file. On their desktop, the shared file no longer
appears, but it has been moved to the Recycle bin. Is there anyway to have it removed permanently? It's a way to perform remote wipe, in the event i lose my laptop or dismiss an employee. Performing the same steps with Dropbox (for comparison) removes the
    folders.
