Windows 10: OneDrive sort by modified date newer to older not working

In OneDrive I have a folder called "CHESS". When I open this folder I see this:Observe that the files should be sorted by the "Modified" column as indicated by the little arrow pointing downwards by the side of the column label. But the files obviously are not sorted in the proper way. They seem to be sorted by "Name", instead.When I open the context menu on the "Modified" column, I check that indeed the "Newer to older" option is selected:Now I have to change from "Newer to older" to "Older to newer", and then revert back to get the proper sorting.This is an annoying bug that I noted has be

Sort by 'Date Modified' but keep folders at the top?

I understand that after recent update when you sort the files by Date Modified, the folders are listed at the bottom. We would like to know which update was installed on the computer, to check go to
Start >> Settings >> Update & Security >> Windows Update >> View update history.



However, you can go ahead and try the following steps and see if that helps in listing the folders at top:

1. Open File Explorer and navigate to the location where your files are stored.
   
2. Sort files by Date Modified (Recent files first).
   
3. Hold Shift key and click on the
   Name column. This will bring folders at the top with files sorted with Date Modified.
   

Let us know the results.

Sorting folders by date modified

Hello everyone

I moved a folder that has a lot of folders and files from one hard disk to another, the thing is I like my data to be sorted by date modified which I did, however, the folders aren't sorted by date modified for some reason even though the files "videos" are sorted correctly, and even though on the old hard disk, they were sorted correctly.

The thing is they aren't sorted by name either! I adjusted the setting to be sorted by date modified, but when I changed to sort by date they were sorted correctly but of course that changed the order of the files outside those folders!

The hard disk is working fine I've checked it so why aren't the folders sorted correctly? I assume that's a Windows-related problem not a hardware problem, I want to know why and how to fix it.

Update: When I changed the view of the folder, it was shown to me that the date modified of all the folders was changed to the day I moved them!

 

Sort files AND folders by "Date Modified" in File Explorer

Is there a way to sort folders and individual files by "Date Modified" together? Right now, when I sort by "Date Modified," folders are automatically put at the bottom below files, even if they have been modified more recently than a file. When I'm quickly
scanning a list, this is very distracting. How can I fix this?
