Windows 10: Onedrive started grabbing all my photos and blowing space limits . How to stop it and bulk...

I have Office 2016. I don't use 365. I am running Windows 11.I was set up to use Onedrive to sync my outlook files between devices. A new icon - Gallery has appeared in Explorer with all my photos on it. I am warned that Onedrive is overflowing. In File Explorer I am under 3 gig but online it has started grabbing all my photos from IPhoto and wherever, many hundreds. This is too many for the catalog display to process and it just hangs trying to select date sorted view. How can I erase all photos from onedrive and stop it grabbing them? The problem ones don't appear in file exp

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

OneDrive space limit change


I just received an e-mail from email.office.com stating that the current 15 GB data size limit of OneDrive space available to those that migrated to Win10 is going to be cut down to 5 GB in few weeks. Because OneDrive was basically the major reason I decided to migrate and because I use almost all of 15 GB space available, this is a major inconvenience for me. Is there any way to force the default OneDrive folders to stop communicating with OneDrive and put them under DropBox control (I have 50 GB free space there, so why not to use it?)?
