  1. OneDrive stops working completely after every reboot Windows11.

OneDrive stops working completely after every reboot. The service icon for OneDrive sync even disappears. I go into Task Manager, the OneDrive service is dead. In file manager, the OneDrive folder icon looks just like a regular folder because there is no syncing. I reinstall OneDrive and it works for that session. But, when I reboot, OneDrive again stops working, service does not start--OneDrive dead. I have reinstalled OneDrive 2 times already, it solves the problem for that session - synchs all files - and then when I restart the laptop for the next days work, OneDrive does not work.

    :)

  2. Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

  3. Windows 10 - "Microsoft OneDrive has stopped working"

Maybe this works (it worked at least for me):

    1) Save folders and files from your original OneDrive to another location/disk.

    2) Delete all Libraries as suggested in another reply. But, don't restore the Libraries before a reboot.

    3) For Windows 10 start taskmgr, click on the Startup tab and right click at OneDrive -> Open File location (C:\Users\Henrik\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive).

    4) Copy the Update\OneDriveSetup.exe to another location.

    5) Go one level up in the file hierarchy and rename the OneDrive folder (if something locks it, reboot and continue from this step).

    6) Reboot, if not already having done that from step 5).

    7) Run the previously copied OneDriveSetup.exe (it complains...) and select your folders to synchronize.

    8) Restore Libraries back to default.

    Have fun...

    /Henrik

EDIT: However, icon-images for your OneDrive folders are somehow lost, until next reboot.

OneDrive stops working completely after every reboot Windows11.

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond OneDrive stops working completely after every reboot Windows11. :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
