    My question is a continuation from the following locked thread: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/all/onedrive-syncing-icons-missing/b64c8931-d0d0-461a-a599-c59612d88846To me, the writer is not clear on what he actually did to add the missing files. I see the pic but the pic is exactly what is shown in my registry withOUT adding anything but I am missing seven OneDrive identifiers. Additionally, I'm also missing seven ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers-x32 too.

    OneDrive continues to use ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers

    There are many places online you can find that have discussed the "15" overlay limit with this registry value and according to this article

    What do the OneDrive icons mean?

    According to this article OneDrive no longer is a victim of this, presumably because it uses the "Status" column.

    My question is why my registry (on a relatively new Win 10 install) still contains OneDrive1 to OneDrive7 entries at this path

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdentifiers

    I wanted to test the idea that these were a hold over "left behind", but when I clicked on the prompt from OneDrive to "Finish setting up my icons" it reordered the listing putting the OneDrive icons at the top of the list. Seems like this is expected?

    "Finish installing update" appears in the system tray after you restart OneDrive.exe

    So which is it? Status Column or Overlay Icons, or is it Both?

    Onedrive has ceased to sync

    Good afternoon

    Without warning, Onedrive has ceased to sync. The little ticks have disappeared and the icon is missing from the system tray. If I launch the programme manually nothing happens. I shall of course continue to ferret around but suggestions gratefully received.

    OneDrive has been uninstalled and reinstalled. The PC has been rebooted. Sync is working fine.

    There are no folders for OneDrive (or any other app) listed under this registry key...

    Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\ShellIconOverlayIdent ifiers
    (On another PC there are seven OneDrive folders shown under that key, and two additional folders.)

    How can the overlay check marks be restored?
