Windows 10: OneDrive: Two Devices- Old Shared Files

Hi there,

Scenario where OneDrive is used only to store files shared by, or common to, both devices. Consider the case of going through the files on the OneDrive local folder on DeviceA with a broom and, when done, syncing to the cloud.

Come the time to launch OneDrive on device B, one might assume syncing will upload any "unwanted" files identified as already cleaned from DeviceA found in B's OneDrive folder back onto the cloud.

Whether the assumption is correct or not, is there anyway to initiate a "found extra files on device" notification dialog from OneDrive?

This question may be already answered- or it may be in the docs, or the unwanted files may be already allocated special icons. My memory and Google skills are not up to scratch on the details of the issue- it may indeed be a question for the OneDrive team if no-one here can help.

OneDrive Shared Folder not Sharing Files

I created a View-Only Shared OneDrive Folder with another person.

I have confirmed that this folder is visible on their OneDrive Account and was downloaded onto all their devices.

I then added files to the Folder, but the files themselves have not been shared. The files are visible in my account, on all my devices, but on their side, the Folder remains empty.

Did I miss a step?

P.S. - both of us are running Win10Pro with all the updates installed.

Sharing Onedrive files between devices

If you are using same account to login into your Onedrive, then there is no concept of sharing. You can use any device to access your Onedrive but login/password should be same.
