Windows 10: OneDrive Video Thumbnails

I am baffled and dismayed at the lack of functionality contained within the basic OneDrive setup. It appears impossible to change the thumbnail generated upon upload of the video to my personal OneDrive and, to add insult to injury, OneDrive replaces the thumbnail that was present on my Windows10 computer. While the capability to pick a thumbnail appears to be present in Microsoft Sharepoint and Microsoft Stream, it does not appear to be available to the OneDrive user.I have tried a number of workarounds to try and resolve this issue - but no availAny suggestions to resolve this issue,

Video preview thumbnails

Hello,

System file corruption is one of the possible reasons why thumbnail preview has recently disappeared. To better assist you, please answer the following:

• For clarification, are referring to video preview thumbnails when using File Explorer?
  
• We would like to verify if you are referring to the Fall Creators Update. To see your
  Windows build and version, please follow the steps in this
  article.
  

In the meantime, we suggest creating a Test User Profile. This is to see if the same issue occurs on a different user profile.

To create a Test User Profile, follow these steps:

• On Search, type Settings then hit the
  Enter key.
• On Settings window, select Accounts.
• Select Family & other people.
  
• Select Add someone else to this PC.
• Name the User Profile as TEST.
• Assign a password for TEST user, then select Next.
• Sign in TEST user.

We'll be waiting on the results.

 

Thumbnails not showing after uploading files to OneDrive

I understand that you are unable to view thumbnails in OneDrive for models. You may refer the steps mentioned in the section
Show image thumbnails and previews from the article
Change views on the OneDrive website and see if that helps.



If the issue persists, I suggest you to contact the OneDrive support team for assistance with the issue. Follow the below steps to contact the OneDrive support team.



Sign in to OneDrive.com from any browser, click the ‘?’ help icon on the top banner of the page and select
Email OneDrive support. Submit your question and follow the prompts to request support.

Windows 10 - OneDrive

Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.
