    OneDrive wont let me retick my desktop after i unticked it from syncing, now its **** me...


    I dont pay for any storage sub for onedrive, I dont WANT to so since OneDrive syncs everything I download, it constantly runs out of storage. When it does that it also likes to put little red Xs and other green s. I was really annoyed at constantly seeing these icons on every single desktop icon and even in my folders, so i went and found out how to get rid of them.Following a Microsoft support thread I unticked my desktop from syncing, after, it suddenly rid my desktop of a ton of icons. ok no biggie i just had to pull them back out, which i did. A few days later i log on and play a game a

    Not Syncing Folders with OneDrive

    How do I add a folder to my desktop without having OneDrive attempt to sync it?

    I wanted to move a large file and for ease of access wanted to place it on the desktop. I don't want OneDrive to upload all 6GB of it.

    What I tried:

    I created a "Local" folder on Desktop. I opened OneDrive, went into Settings > Choose Folders and unticked "Local" so that OneDrive does not sync it.

    This simply made the folder inaccessible.

    So I stopped Backup for Desktop. This in turn made all other files on the Desktop disappear... at this point I came here and decided to simply ask.
