    I called Microsoft was not able to answer the question expecting a technician to call back tomorrow but in the interim here it is. I know that one is suppose to be able to download lost data to a computer or to a new computer from one drive by downloading the item. Why is it that when I try testing this by purposely deleting a document from my document folder on my computer I also find that it is deleted from one drive on line. This should not be happening since how can I restore something to my computer if at the same time it is being deleted from one drive, understand? It does make sense that if something is delete from the folder one drive on my computer that it would be deleted from one drive on line since it would make sense that the two are inter connected; but, do not understand the prior deletion stated a the beginning.


    I am looking into perhaps making more room on my computer by storing items on one drive and then deleting from the computer which I am fairly sure is one of the reasons for one drive.

    Windows 10 - OneDrive

    Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

    If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

    1. Login to OneDrive.com.
    2. Click the ? Help icon on the top banner of the page.
    3. Select Email OneDrive support for the further assistance.

    Hi,

    Thank you for replying.

    I understand your concern and suggest you to Unlink OneDrive and run OneDrive setup
    again and check. Here is the steps:


    • Right-click the white OneDrive cloud icon in the notification area, at the far right of the taskbar.

      (You might need to click the Show hidden icons arrow next to the notification area to see the
      OneDrive icon.)

    • Click Settings, and then click Unlink.

    • Follow the steps in the Welcome to OneDrive wizard to set up OneDrive.
