Right click on one of your notebooks and "sync all notebooks". After the syncing is complete, all of your notebooks are backed up on your cloud/OneDrive (you can login to OneNote web/online to doublecheck everything is there). When you have OneNote installed
on a new computer or reinstalled, just log back into your Outlook account and resync. All of your notebooks should be there (you might need to open notebooks individually). This is for the OneNote modern app though (i.e. the free one from the Win 8/8.1/10
store) as the older OneNote packaged with Office has a different process.
