Windows 10: OneNote for Windows 10 not opening after a system reset

I just had to completely wipe my drive and reset my computer due to disc corruption.
After I restored everything back to the way it was, the only thing that doesn't seem to work as before is OneNote. Whenever I try to open it the window just flashes then disappears.
I have tried **everything** to fix it; App Settings, uninstalling, reinstalling, deleting the settings.dat file, PowerShell. Nothing has worked. I really don't want to reset Windows *again* just to see if that might be the problem, but I am out of ideas. I use OneNote a lot and I'd prefer if it were not a permanent casualty of what I just went through with my rig.
Can anyone help me?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

OneNote won't open

Also install any pending Windows updates on the pc to check if that helps. Updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing
experience.



I suggest you try restart your Computer and try to open your OneNote . if issue still persists, I kindly suggest you to follow the steps mentioned by Ruxo in the following thread which discusses about how to uninstall OneNote .

OneNote 2016 opening on startup

Hi,

In order to turn off or disable OneNote 2016 at startup, we suggest that you follow the steps below:

• Right-click on the Taskbar, and select Task Manager.
• On the bottom right of the Task Manager window, click the drop-down arrow to open
  More details.
• Click the Startup tab. This tab shows the programs that are enabled on Startup.
• Right-click OneNote 2016, and click Disable.
• Click File, then Exit.
• You may then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
