Windows 10: OneNote isn't syncing automatically despite settings

I have a work OneNote on two machines and on a server that will not stay synced not matter what I do. I have to manually go into the the sync menu and click the button to Sync all - I can't even sync individually, you have to do them all at once. Even with that there's still a warning that "We couldn't merge some changes. Click here to see page versions with unmerged changes." that will not go away.

Why is everything Microsoft does these days so 95% finished? I'm trying to get my office on Teams and honestly I'm wondering if I'm wasting my time and creating more problems than I'm solving.

OneNote not syncing on tablet and windows

I'd like to ask what changes have you made prior to this issue. Try reinstalling OneNote on your device.

Also, try following the troubleshooting steps provided on these support articles:

• Fix issues when you can't sync OneNote
• Fix sync issues in OneNote for iOS or Android

Let me know how the issue goes after the troubleshooting.

This isn't a valid step progression because there is no "OneNote" section in Office settings or any way to "make sure automatic synchronization is turned ON"

I know where OneNote is... I am experiencing the same issue as the OP. Julie's solution was invalid. I am looking for a solution.

Yes. Despite getting that annoying error message OneNote is syncing just fine with OneDrive and my other computer.
