Windows 10: OneNote printer drivers in surface 11 pro

Cannot open a powerpoint and word file by OneNote in my surface 11 pro , lacking relevant printer drivers OneNote Desktop.

Surface Pro will not recognize multi-function printer as a printer

• Is this the first time connecting this printer to your Surface? or did this work before?
  
• What build version of Windows your Surface is currently running?
  

Let’s explore some potential solutions to address this issue:

1. Make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to the same network as the Surface Pro.

2. Check if the printer is set as the default printer. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners and select the printer. Click on "Manage" and then "Set as default".

3. Remove and reinstall printer driver. Although you mentioned reinstalling the driver, let’s try a more thorough approach:

• Press Windows key + X and select Device Manager.
  
• Locate the printer's drivers. Then right-click on the printer and choose Uninstall device.
  
• Disconnect the printer from the Surface Pro.
  
• Reboot the Surface Pro.
  
• Reconnect the printer and let Windows automatically install the driver.
  
• Check if the printer now appears correctly as a printer.
  

4.Try adding the printer manually. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners and click on "Add a printer or scanner". Select "The printer that I want isn't listed" and follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer manually.

5. Check any updates available for your Surface. Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows updates and check for updates. Install any pending updates and restart your Surface Pro. Also check optional updates available.

Could you please help me with the below information:

1. Does the battery drain out, if the tablet is not connected to peripherals?
   
   
2. Which version of Windows you are using? (To check, type: winver in start menu and hit enter.)
   

I understand how something like this can try your patience. This issue is an indication of faulty drivers or incompatible driver.
However, I suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Check the drivers.

Step1: Battery driver

1. Press Windows andR
   key together on your Keyboard.
2. Type devmgmt.msc and hit enter.
   
3. Click on view on top > Select Show hidden devices.
   
4. Expand the Batteries option from the list.
   
5. Select the ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery> right click on the driver and click on
   Properties.
6. Click on Driver tab > check if you have the option to
   Roll Back Driver.
7. If yes, Roll back the driver or uninstall it and restart the computer.
   

Uninstalling the driver will be automatically installed after the system is restarted. Check if the issue is fixed.

Step 2: Keyboard driver.

1. In the Device manager, go to ‘Other devices’, you will find
   Unknown devices.
   
2. Double tap on the unknown device > click on
   Driver tab> click on update driver.
   
3. Select browse my computer for driver software> Click on Let me pick from a list of device drivers
   
4. Select keyboard, then click ‘Next’.
   
5. Select HID Keyboard device and click finish.
   

Method 2: Run the toolkit.

which printers are compatible with Surface pro 11

Someone should identify a home printer that actually works with a Surface Pro 11. Microsoft chose to produce the Surface Pro 11 with an ARM processor that creates a number of challenges. I have found that printing is one of those challenges. My HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 scans and otherwise indicates everything is OK except that when I try actually to print I get an error message. Reaching out to HP has been a pointless, time-wasting exercise. The HP 8720 is rather old, so I would not mind buying a new printer, but I need to know that any new printer would be compatible. I have searched without success for Surface Pro 11 compatible printers. Surely somewhere someone has found a printer that will work. (Note that I am referring to a typical home printer environment. I think that in a business networked environment there are ARM compatible solutions.)
