Windows 10: Ongoing failure with Windows Update. Windows 10, version 22H2 0x800f0900

I've been unable to install this update for going on two years now. Despite my best efforts on and off during that time, nothing I've tried has worked. Each time it gets to 97% and says something has gone wrong and reverts the change. I'm at my wits end, and just want the matter settled. I don't know what else I can do short of a clean install, and I'd rather not resort to that, so I'm coming here in hopes I can find a resolution.

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.
