Windows 10: Only 2 files video show icon not thumbnail.

Good evening and thank you in advance for your time/expertise.Only two files video show icon, not thumbnail. I deleted and re-downloaded the files from Google Drive - twice.I reinstalled the program VideoLan VLC - twice. I cleared the cache with this programme: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/icon-cache-rebuilder-for-windows-10 I run CCLeaner to fix the registry.Kindly, could someone, please, help me?Win 10 64

Icons and thumbnails not showing

PNG Icon overlays the video files thumbnail


Hi all,

Well, I have been researching in this (and other forums) and I still can't fix this. Actually in my Windows 10 there is a PNG icon overlaying the thumbnail of video files.
This happened after I just tried to change the default icon of VLC player, but now, all the Thumbnails are messed up.

What I have done so far:

1. cleared the thumbnail cache.
2. deleting the icon cache file.
3. uninstalling and then installing VLC again (deleting all user files and configurations)
4. Checking the default icon with File Type Manager. (all video files are using the VLC icon).
5. Searching for the Regedit value... and of course it's the same as File Type Manager.
6. Checked the thumbnails files to be sure that this trouble is caused by an icon overlap and not a bad rendering (in the thumbnails files every single video have it's thumbnail perfect, but in Windows Explorer they have that black icon over them).







So. Honestly, don't know what to do... any ideas? *Sad

 

Windows 10 showing device icons instead of thumbnails in folders

There's a possibility that some folder settings may have changed. It could be set to show icons and not thumbnails. To verify that, please follow the steps below:

• Open the File Explorer.
• Click the View tab.
• On the upper-right corner, click Options.
• On the Folder Options, click the View tab.
• Under Files and Folders, uncheck Always show icons, never thumbnails.
• Click Apply, then OK.

Once done, try checking if the folder icons are already showing thumbnails.
