  1. Only 3 Windows Updates installed after Clean Install

I cleaned installed Win10 Pro using the Media Creation Tool and how come I only got 3 updates???? This is very strange.
I am assuming I would get more updates than these.
    Running version 1511 build 10586

Is it because Win10 is too new ???

And I kept pressing the Check for Updates button and it said no more new updates.

    :)

  2. Windows Defender not updating automatically

    Answer-by-number:

    1. You did a clean install of Windows 10 "about 3 weeks ago" on both computers, is that correct?

2a. What Version & Build of Win10 is installed on the Notebook PC?

    2b. ...the Desktop PC?

    See
    http://www.howtogeek.com/236195/how-to-find-out-which-build-and-version-of-windows-10-you-have/

    3. Have you activated the clean install of Win10 on either computer yet?

    4. Did you backup any data to an external location (e.g., flash drive; external HDD) and then restore the data to the computers' HHDs after doing the clean install?

    5. Was Win10 Anniversary Update installed before or after you did the clean installs of Win10? If after, was the Anniversary Update offered & installed via Windows Update or did you install it manually?

    6. Note: From now on, we can only work with one (1) of the computers in this thread. Will it be the Desktop PC or the Notebook PC?

How Can I Stop the Creators Update

That's hardly a surprise. Nobody who knows their way around a computer would try to update an operating system. The 'smart' computer users (who taught me) all do a clean install. A clean install on compatible hardware always works well, and that's true no
matter what the operating system is. It can work well for you too, and you'll have no fear of Windows Update after that.

1- Make sure that your computer's hardware is compatible with Windows 10.

Installing an operating system on hardware that isn't compatible is like dating a girl who's out of your league. It's only a matter of time before it ends in heartbreak.

2- Do a clean install, never an upgrade.

3- After the install has completed run Windows Update until your computer is completely up to date.

4- Only install 'apps' (what we used to call 'programs') that are supported on Windows 10.

That's it. Now you can relax while other people are composing poison pen letters to post here. My Windows 7 computer has undergone 3 clean installs - to Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and now to Windows 10 - and I've never had a problem.

Only 3 Windows Updates installed after Clean Install

Run winver. If build is 10586.36 it is up to date.

  5. Yep sure is! Thanks! So this would be normal then to have just 3 updates?
    Seems quite strange to me.

Either during the clean install it updated after or some were included in MCT. I only have 7 including a flash player update from today since my clean install of 10586, i would not worry if need them they will update eventually.

If you install/upgrade but elect to not udate during install, it installs version 10586.0. You will have more or less updates to 10586.36 depending on when you update, software installed etc.

    Also another issue.
I am trying to uninstall the update for IE 11 (KB3104002) which crashes my IE 11 sometimes.
How can I do this? I see the update installed from the About and Help window, but not from the View Uninstalled Updates.

And I also don't see it here as well....

I NEED this update to be uninstalled. Its causing my IE 11 to crash.
I had the same issue when I was on Win7....

As far as I know, KB3104002 is NOT for IE11 and not supported in Windows 10.
You can't find it because it could not be installed in Windows 10.

KB3104002 is for IE10 and downward.

If your IE11 is unstable, try this method...................
Open IE11 > click Tools > click Internet Options > at the top, click Advanced > at Reset Internet Explorer settings heading, click the Reset button > follow the prompts from then on.

  11. So why does it even show from the HELP and ABOUT Internet Explorer within IE11?
I need this update to be uninstalled.
Is there anyway to do so?

    Thanks for the quick responses.

    Let me repeat.
KB3104002 is NOT supported by Windows 10.
You could NOT have it installed in Windows 10.

Good question. Mine says KB3104002 but I don't have it installed separately.

Only 3 Windows Updates installed after Clean Install [IMG]

According to the link here it is included in Decembers cumulative update KB3119600 which was replaced by KB3124200 which you (and I) have installed.

So it is installed but can't be uninstall it separately.

It sort of goes back to your original question - why are so few patches installed? The answer is that with the cumulative updates you only get the last one if you do a clean install.

Best approach is to try and fix whatever the problem is as mentioned in the post above.

  15. I understand if it did not get installed.
But my concern is that why does it have the KB3104002 number shown when I go to Help and About Internet Explorer?
