Windows 10: Only Home when upgrading Win 8.1 Pro with Media Center notebook to Windows 10

I would like to upgrade my notebook to Windows 10 it lacks TPM2, so no Win 11It was bought with Windows 8 Home preinstalled, I've bought Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center electronically.Now if I try to upgrade, the upgrade program claims it's not possible. If I install on an empty hard disk, I get only Windows 10 Home.I don't want to pay an upgrade to 10 Pro as I've paid Pro with Media Center directly to Microsoft.It's a notebook, so hardware, except for the hard disk, was never changed.How can I then upgrade the notebook to Windows 10 Pro?Thank you.

Win 8.1 Pro Windows Media Center Expired

I bought a license Windows Media Center with Win 8.1 Pro. I am of course getting notices that Windows Media Center will not get TV scheduled listings after the end of 2019. Win 8.1 Pro lifecycle is "The lifecycle of Windows 8.1 will remain under the

same lifecycle policy as Windows 8 with support ending 1/10/2023." So it seems Microsoft is again reneging on promises. If you bought a licence for WMC for Win8.1 Pro they should have the same lifecycle?

I was a Windows Vista Ultimate purchaser with all the promises of special innovative things being rolled out. Microsoft didn't fulfill that promise.

In regard to your DVD Rom drive - go to -control panel/device manager/DVD/CD-ROM drives -make a note of the make and model number Example: Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-215D ATA Device - highlight the device you have installed -press right mouse button-select properties-details-property and select Install Date from the drop down list and let us know this.

They already do. Windows Media Center on Window 8.1 costs either $10 or $100 depending on version of Windows. Windows 7 was the last to get it free.
